An update on the brand HeadsUp! It's a Scam and its website. There is only one person working on this website, doing the design checks, grammar, punctuation, description etc. So, progress may be slow, but it will surely be delt with. And by delt with I am referring to what I want to do with this website. I have a clear starting goal for my brand and website. To make everything on my platform understandable, relatable and reachable. I am currently fixing some behinds the scenes issues with getting my website up and running/visible for all to see. I am also adding more and more things to my website that I've wanted to from day one and that is already showing up partly on my website. One thing I'd like to talk about is the page "how to report a scam" I am wanting to describe everything in a way that is understandable to all on this page and more, not just the basic mumbo jumbo "big words figure out what that means later". for example. - On Bing this is the example of what a "Phishing" scam is: The fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers: "an email that is likely a phishing scam" And what I would put is: "Phishing" Is a type of scam that you get via your emails, they may pose as other companies cleverly using subliminal wording that is "seemingly" professional enough to pass by, or even disguise their fake emails as the real thing. for instance, you may get an email from Netflix, or a company that is likely popular currently, as scammers usually target the majority of a group, be that elderly. The email may look like this, using Netflix as an example "Your account has been temporarily suspended for suspicious activity, please log in to fix this issue." now this sets you up to panic 2x, "oh no my account is frozen" and "oh no a scammer has my account" shock and adrenaline fuelled decisions is what they want, but remember it only takes a few seconds to google what Netflix's email is but in those moments you aren't thinking about that, THIS is why I made this website, to prevent and rase awareness. These emails will also contain valuable information at your disposal, all email accounts have, well emails. This connects you to them. USE this to your advantage. Is the email from the official company? (In another section I would go on about the many email variants from various brands, which ones are real, how fake ones look and even maybe ones that are known to be fake. Which would go on for five more lines.) (I would also talk about the way the email is presented, what to look out for and explain that scammers can replicate emails from official businesses quite well and their layouts and words. Even to the smallest detail. One thing they can't hide for certain is their email. But again, they are VERY deceptive.) - And this is where it comes to this section. I want to make Bite Size bits of what my long descriptions means but that still doesn't mean that my main description, the longer one won't have a laid-back approach, it will. As I think that is key to explaining scams in the best way possible. - Bite-Size Scam-Tips: Got an email claiming it's from amazon, Netflix or another company out of the blue? Its good practise to look if the email is legitimate, go on the internet or use this website to see the official company's email's and or how they present their emails. Or simply look at the profile it was sent from, is it from the official provider? Like this (info@Mailer.Netflix.com) or (info@account.netflix.com) as an example. And NOT this for example (netflix@gmail.com) or even (Netflix@noreply.info) Think, does this match up to the messages I have had previously? Did you know some scam companies will buy professional emails to pose as business? - Okay, I hope this helps in a way. Ps, I wrote all of this twice at 5 am as Wix, their forums just decided not to save any progress using "CTRL-Z" This take on the update I hope makes sense, as I preferred the original one, thank you and kind regards, - HeadsUp!
